Verifying Your Domain #
How to Use DNS to Verify Your Domain with Google Search Console (Webmaster Tools) #
When setting up Google Search Console, you will need to verify your domain. A recommended method, effective if you are using StackDNS nameservers, involves adding the Google verification code as a TXT record for your domain.
Follow these steps to verify your domain:
- Access the Manage DNS Section: Go to the “Manage DNS” section of your StackCP control panel.
- Add New Records: Towards the bottom of the Manage DNS page, you will see three inputs to allow you to add new records:
- Leave the “Name” Field Blank: Do not enter anything in the “Name” field.
- Select “TXT” for Type: Choose “TXT” from the dropdown menu for the type.
- Enter the Google Verification Code: In the “Data” input, enter the record provided by Google.
- Save Your Changes: After entering the information, save your changes.
- Verify on Google: Go back to Google Search Console and run the verification process.
DNS updates across StackDNS nameservers are usually done instantly but may take up to 2 minutes in rare cases.
Using StackDNS and CP CLOUD HOSTING makes domain verification with Google Search Console straightforward and quick.
