DMARC DNS Records #

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) is a protocol designed to stop or reduce email spam and phishing attacks. It leverages existing email authentication methods, such as SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail).

To use the DMARC Wizard tool, you need a domain name and an email service that supports DMARC. The tool helps you create a DMARC policy for your domain and add it to your DNS records.

Steps to Use the DMARC Wizard Tool: #

  1. Log in to Your StackCP Account:
    • Go to Manage Hosting > Options > Manage.
  2. Access the DMARC Wizard:
    • Click on DMARC Wizard under Email.
  3. Select Your Domain Name:
    • Choose your domain name in the Domain field.
  4. Choose the Requested Policy Type:
    • Select the requested policy type from the drop-down menu. If you are unsure, the recommended option is None, which means you only want to monitor the DMARC reports and not take any action on emails that fail the DMARC check.
  5. Customize Your DMARC Policy (Optional):
    • Click on Advanced Options to further customize your DMARC policy. You can specify the DKIM identifier, the SPF identifier, the policy percentage, and the action to take on emails that fail the DMARC check.
  6. Generate the DMARC Record:
    • Click on Add DMARC to generate the DMARC record for your domain. The DNS record will be automatically added as a TXT record with _dmarc as the host name.

You have successfully added a DMARC record for your domain using the DMARC Wizard tool. You can now monitor the DMARC reports and adjust your policy as needed. For more information on DMARC, please visit DMARC.org.
