Overview of Email Sending Limits #

Managing your email sending effectively is crucial to maintaining both functionality and compliance with best practices. At StackCP, we have set specific limits for email sending to ensure optimal performance and security. Here’s what you need to know about the email sending limits on our platform.

Email Account Limits #

Authenticated SMTP Limits #

For emails sent via authenticated SMTP, which includes emails sent from mail clients and potentially your website if configured to use SMTP, the following limits apply:

  • Messages Per Address: Each email address can send up to 8,000 messages per 24 hours.
  • Daily Recipient Limits:
    • A maximum of 10,000 recipients per day.
    • Up to 2,000 unique recipients per day.
  • Individual Email Limit: A single email can be addressed to no more than 100 recipients.

For example, sending 100 emails to 5 different addresses within a 24-hour period counts as 100 messages, 500 total recipients, and 5 unique recipients.

Web Server Email Limits #

  • Daily Limit: Emails sent from our web servers are limited to 500 messages per day.
  • Size Limit: Each email should be no larger than 5 MB in size. This is particularly relevant for messages sent via the PHP mail() function.

Email Size Limits #

  • Attachment Size: Attachments can be up to 32MB.
  • Maximum Message Size: The total size of an email, including attachments, can be up to 50MB.

Autoresponder Frequency #

  • Autoresponders are configured to send a response once every 8 hours per sender, helping to prevent spam and manage server load.

Zero Tolerance Spam Policy #

StackCP enforces a strict no-tolerance policy towards unsolicited email, bulk emailing, and spam to maintain the high reputation of our email hosting services. Adherence to our Acceptable Use Policy is required.

Distributed Network Flexibility #

The distributed nature of our network may occasionally allow for higher sending capacities, but this should not be relied upon for regular operations. If you need to send larger volumes of emails regularly, consider using specialized marketing email platforms such as SendGrid, Mailgun, or Mailjet.

New Mailbox Sending Limit #

  • Initial Limit: New mailboxes are restricted to sending 50 emails per day for the first 7 days. This rule helps prevent abuse and ensures that new accounts are not used for spam.

Conclusion #

Understanding and adhering to these email sending limits is essential for effectively managing your email communications through StackCP. These limits help ensure that your emails are delivered reliably and contribute to the overall security and reputation of our email services.
