SSL Certificates #

At StackCP Web Hosting, we provide four distinct types of SSL certificates: Free, Simple, Wildcard, and Extended. All of these SSL certificates ensure your website URL has the ‘https’ prefix, indicating that the traffic is encrypted and secure.

Free SSL Certificate Our Free Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates are provided by Let’s Encrypt. To use these, your domain must be pointed to our nameservers. These certificates not only enhance your Google ranking but also assure potential customers of your site’s security. These are wildcard certificates, meaning they can cover subdomains like subdomain.yoursite.com.

Simple SSL Certificate For ecommerce businesses, our Simple SSL certificates from GeoTrust are a great choice. These certificates do not require the use of our nameservers. They include domain validation, meaning the certificate authority has verified the domain owner.

Wildcard SSL Certificate GeoTrust’s Wildcard SSL certificates cover all subdomains of your website and come with a $10,000 warranty. This warranty provides financial protection in the event of a security breach due to a flaw or error in the SSL certificate, resulting in data loss.

Extended SSL Certificate Extended SSL certificates offer the highest level of validation available. They include thorough checks on the company by the certificate authorities, providing more credibility compared to Free or Simple SSL certificates. Extended SSL certificates come with a warranty and an Extended Validation certificate, offering enhanced security and trustworthiness.

SSL and TLS SSL certificates have traditionally been used to secure website traffic. However, the SSL protocol has been replaced by the more secure Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. All of our certificates utilise TLS version 1.3, though we refer to them as ‘SSL Certificates’ for familiarity.
